Support for high-quality laboratory-based research is a core feature of the School of Psychology’s mission. In keeping with this priority the School has well-equipped laboratories which can support a wide range of lab-based research activities.  The laboratories are located on the second floor of the main admin building, and are divided into two sections. One section is open-access, giving students access to networked computer laboratories, bookable small labs and observation rooms for conducting experiments, and offices housing the school’s technical staff. The other section is accessible only by means of a swipe card. This section  houses more specialist laboratory space and equipment, and is primarily used by academic staff, research students and research assistants to conduct their research. Equipment such as the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator, Electroencephalographer and Transcranial Doppler are kept in this section, as well as the Eye Tracking Laboratories.
